Variety's Intelligence Platform president Andrew Wallenstein received a survey that went out via the Spotify app that gauged user interest in the potential platform. It would provide access to a variety of original shows or exclusives for a monthly fee.

The survey lined out about four different potential plans that could come to fruition, all from $3 to $8 monthly. The $3 plan would include exclusive interviews and episodes with ads. Given Spotify's recent investment in the podcasting space as of late with names like Michelle Obama, it makes sense that the platform would consider an additional method for users to get more out of podcasts in general.

However, when speaking to The Verge, a Spotify spokesperson stated that there's currently 'no further news to share on future plans at this time' in reference to the survey.
